Phil is a chartered surveyor with over 30 years’ experience in retail property. He commenced his career in 1987 at retail specialists Churston Heard where he worked for 21 years and was an equity director when the company was acquired by JLL in 2008. He spent a further 9 years at JLL as a director in the retail and leisure team before establishing Leamy Manders in 2017.

Phil has specialised in retail property throughout his career and has extensive experience in all aspects of the sector dealing with shops, supermarkets, large stores and department stores. He provides expert advice on rent reviews, lease renewals, lease re-gears and agency matters throughout the UK.

Phil is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an experienced expert witness frequently providing evidence to arbitration tribunals, independent experts and to court. He regularly acts on behalf of many of the UK’s leading retailers including Boots, H&M, Marks & Spencer, Next, Primark and Tesco.

Matt is a chartered surveyor with over 17 years’ experience in retail property. He graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2002 and joined retail specialists Churston Heard. Following the acquisition of the company by JLL in 2008 he spent a further 9 years as a director in the retail and leisure team before leaving to establish Leamy Manders in 2017.

Matt has significant experience providing advice on lease renewals, re-gears, rent reviews and agency matters across the retail sector. This includes large retail stores, retail warehousing, restaurants, shops and supermarkets throughout the UK. Matt is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an experienced expert witness providing evidence to arbitration tribunals, independent experts and to court.

During his career he has advised some of the UK’s major owners and occupiers of commercial property including Aberdeen Standard, Apple, Boots, BlackRock, Columbia Threadneedle, Debenhams, Hollister, Landsec, Legal & General, Marks & Spencer, Orchard Street Investment Management and Tesco amongst others.
