Philip Leamy

Phil Leamy has over 30 years’ experience in retail property. He is a leading expert in the lease advisory sector renowned for his knowledge of the department store, large space and food store markets. Specialising in lease renewals and lease re-structuring, Phil has a wealth of experience in resolving complex disputes and achieving impressive results for his clients.

Prior to establishing Leamy Manders in 2017, Phil spent 21 years with retail specialists Churston Heard. He was an equity director when the company was acquired in 2008 by JLL where he spent 9 years as a director in the retail team.

Phil is a chartered surveyor (MRICS) and member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) frequently acting as an expert witness providing evidence to court, arbitration tribunals and to independent experts. He regularly acts on behalf of the UK’s leading retailers including Boots, Marks & Spencer, Next, Primark and Tesco.

Matthew Manders

With over 20 years’ experience in retail property Matt is an expert in the lease advisory sector. His expertise is negotiating lease renewals, rent reviews and lease regears. Prior to establishing Leamy Manders in 2017 he was a director at JLL and Churston Heard.

Matt has a broad knowledge of the retail market including large retail stores, retail warehousing, restaurants, shops and food stores. During his career he has advised many of the UK’s major owners and occupiers of commercial property including Abrdn, Apple, Boots, Columbia Threadneedle, Hollister, Legal & General, Marks and Spencer, Railpen and Tesco.

Matt has an honours degree in Real Estate Management from Nottingham Trent University, is a chartered surveyor (MRICS) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). He is an experienced expert witness providing evidence to court, arbitration tribunals and to independent experts.
